About +48v Records

The label was formed in 2005 with the release of Newport power trio From Mars ' debut album "23". Our aim is to tap into and nurture the raw talent around the South East Wales area. Eschewing the CD format entirely, it is +48v's firm belief that digital downloading is the way forward. Our roster currently consists of AKA Mo, Ballbag Express And The Marching Band, Sly-T, Stephen Light.

"Sweet Transmission" by Stephen Light & The Black Sand Band (Dec 2007)

Hailing from Caerleon in the Usk Valley, Stephen is a self confessed luddite who nevertheless manages to come up with something new. Evoking the classic singer/songwriters from the 60s/70s, this album takes you on a nostalgic journey through his lifes highs and lows and sizeable record collection. Sometimes slowburning country, sometimes rootsy folk, sometimes smoky rock n' roll but always with Stephens unique drawl on it.
